We are the owners here at The Village. We wanted a safe place for our grandchildren to learn, grow and flourish into well rounded individuals, so we opened Little Village Learning Center. It takes a village to raise a child and that is what we have created here. We both have years of experience with our own children as well as grandchildren and feel that each child in our care is an extension of our family. Safety of our children is a number one priority and that is why all staff is first aid and CPR certified.
Hello, I am Kristin the Executive Director at Little Village Learning Center. I have five years experience as well as my own children. I have obtained my Commonwealth Child Care Credential as well as my Child Development Associates. I am also enrolled in college working towards a degree in Elementary Education. My goal for the children in our care is to help mold them into innovative individuals that will contribute to society.
Hi there, my name is Shelby Judd and I am the Assistant Director here at Little Village Learning Center. I was a preschool teacher for 5 years prior to coming to the Village, and I’m currently in school for a degree in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education and American Sign Language.
I have my Childhood Developments Associate Credential, Commonwealth Child Care Credential, and am working towards my Directors Credential.
I joined Little Village because it was unlike anything I had ever seen in childcare, and I knew that this facility was going to go above and beyond. For its families, for its kids, and for its staff. This place truly is a Village!
Hello! My name is Desirae Adkins,
I’m 22 years old, married and have two beautiful kids. I have been in childcare for 5 years and have loved every minute out it!
I have a lot of experience with infants to 4yr olds. I’m CPR and First Aid certified.
In high school my career pathway was childhood development and I have recently decided to further my education and obtain my Child Development Associate. With that being said my goal for my future is to stay in the childcare setting. Id like to start with my CDA and then move up the ladder as a director and eventually own my own center.
What made me want to work with the little village is, it’s not just a job. We are a family, and here for each other. I love my kids that I work with in the 3-4 year old room.
Hi friends! My name is Miss Shelby and I am the kindergarten readiness teacher here at The Village. I am currently working on my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I joined the field of education because I love teaching, especially shaping the young minds of the future! I strive to create a welcoming and safe environment for everyone here at the Village!
My certifications include CPR/First aid, Childcare Commonwealth Credential, and Day Care orientation. I have served as the President and Vice President of UK’s Kentucky Education Association and worked for the Dean of the College of Education in my time there.
I hope to use my skills and certifications to bring success to all students beyond the classroom!
Future Career: Elementary School Teacher
I have taken a plethora of classes towards a nursing degree before realizing children were more of a passion, I have switched majors to obtain a degree in Elementary Education.
I have background education in child development, child psychology, and some nursing. I have personal experience from babysitting, working in the nursery at church, and raising my little girl. I worked with a physical therapist for my daughter, so I know tricks and tips on how to help infants meet their milestones. I bring knowledge and a fun-loving attitude.
I love working with children and infants are my favorite age! Babies are so cute, and I love making them laugh and watching them grow! There is nothing better than seeing their smiles and helping them meet their milestones!
I love my babies! I love being able to watch them grow and help them become independent. I like my fellow teacher in the room, as well as my co-workers here. I love the village theme and community-based learning here.

Since I have started working at LVLC, I have had the opportunity to care for and love some of the most precious little souls. My favorite part about my job is the bond that you create with the kids. I love working at The Little Village and I wouldn’t rather be anywhere else!
I am a 2021 North Bullitt graduate with a 3.7 GPA. During my time at North Bullitt, I began my future pathway into Health Care while working at The Little Village.
